Rosy Cole Discovers America!

By Sheila Greenwald

“We’re going to find out how all Americans have discovered America and we’re going to have wonderful fun doing it.”

When Rosy’s teacher announces a special class project about discovering America through family history, everyone is excited except Rosy. While her friends can boast about great-aunts  who were beautiful debutantes and great-uncles who were famous yachtsmen, the only ancestors Rosy has uncovered are a poor great-great-grandmother who traveled to America by a lifeboat and a great-great-uncle who  was a famous horse thief. What’s so wonderful about that?

Rosy’s outrageous scheme to save face makes for a hilarious and insightful story as she unexpectedly learns just what makes her own family, and America special.
